Steven A. Brody, MD, PhD is the Medical Director of Fertility & Lifespan Medical Institute in San Diego. As a reproductive endocrinologist and gynecologist, he specializes in infertility, PCOS, hormone imbalance, and IVF.
He is fellowship-trained in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and has held board certification in four distinct specialties: Internal Medicine, Endocrinology & Metabolism, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. That combination is unusual — and it is the reason his evaluations look at the whole endocrine picture rather than the reproductive system in isolation.

Dr. Brody has authored or co-authored three books, including one written with a Nobel Prize–winning scientist at Cambridge. He has published numerous medical research studies and has lectured internationally — in Peru, Colombia, Eastern Europe, and Japan.

Many of Dr. Brody's patients stay with him long after fertility treatment ends — often because of the relationship built during it. Over time he expanded the practice to include care for menopausal women, integrative medicine, and bioidentical hormone therapy, so that patients who came for one chapter of their health don't have to start over for the next.
Outside the office, Dr. Brody is proud of his children and his grandson.
